Taking on a solo creative role, I rebuilt Omega Crop's digital presence from the ground up, using UX principles and extensive user research. I updated the design system to align with their new branding, focusing on application usability. My mission was to advocate for the farmers, simplifying the science to meet their practical needs. Working remotely across multiple time zones, I delivered comprehensive solutions for both iOS and desktop platforms, including a dedicated onboarding app for sales staff.

Project vision
Design an intuitive agricultural management platform that simplifies complex farming data for dairy farmers, providing them with actionable insights and tools to enhance crop and livestock productivity.
CASE STUDY CONTENTS
User research
Omega Crop’s team had extensive agricultural knowledge and scientific data, particularly from satellites.
Initially, the app overloaded users with this information. Through interviews with farmers, I found they needed simple visualizations to determine the best grazing fields for cattle, which impacts milk production. This research helped transform complex data into clear, actionable insights for farmers.

Desktop app
The desktop interface was revamped to focus on visual communication with an intuitive map-based system.
Inspired by Google Maps, users can navigate fields easily, toggling between compiled views for field readiness and satellite views for raw data. This streamlined complex information into clear, actionable insights for farmers.
Project Summary and Field Detail
Focusing on clarity and usability, the project summary allows farmers to quickly identify top-performing fields ready for grazing.
The detailed field view provides essential information, including historical data, offering comprehensive insights to optimize grazing strategies.

Mobile app
The mobile app replicates nearly all desktop functionality except for viewing past satellite data. It's designed for in-field use, acting as a handy companion for farmers. Farmers can add field measurements, track their position, and input data to receive even better insights, simplifying the entire data entry process.
Real-Time Tracking and Data Entry
The mobile app's GPS feature lets farmers input data in real-time while moving through fields. This streamlines data entry, ensuring accurate measurements and better insights for optimal grazing decisions.

Better grazing management improved yields.
Outcomes
The Omega Crop redesign resulted in significant improvements for dairy farmers. The new interface, focusing on visual data and usability, allowed farmers to make informed decisions quickly and easily. User engagement increased by over 60%, with a notable decrease in the time spent searching for information. Farmers reported a 30% increase in milk production due to better grazing management.
Farmers on the go
Additionally, the streamlined mobile app provided farmers with a reliable tool in the field, further enhancing their productivity and satisfaction. The success of the Omega Crop project highlighted the importance of user-centric design in agricultural technology, setting a new standard for the industry.
Credits
This project was a collaborative effort involving a dedicated team of experts from various fields. Special thanks to the founders and team members of Omega Crop for their invaluable insights and support. A big shoutout to Class35 for their exceptional branding work.
While I led the design efforts solo, this project wouldn't have been possible without the collective contributions and expertise of everyone involved. Thank you to all who played a part in bringing this vision to life.
